Jane Goodall is a pretty famous ethologist, (which is basically the study of animal behavior) along with being an anthropologist (the study of humanity) and a primatologist, ( taken from its name, it is the study of primates.)
So clearly, she is very involved with animal rights and humanity. She has build her reputation independently and is well known for the time and effort she spent studying the social and family interactions of wild chimpanzees that lasted for 45 years in Gombe Stream National Park, Tanzania.
She is is the finder of the Jane Goodall Institute (1977). Her main concern was to make positive changes for communities, animals and the environment. The mission of the institute is to take action in improving the environment of all living things through objectives that are stated in the site. Please refer to: http://www.janegoodall.org/
